Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 PA.
This is a unique position for a technically minded and experienced individual that combines the leadership of technical projects with day-to-day general office management.
The technical focus of this role centres on the organisation of a small team of computer programmers, developing software both directly and indirectly related to SMS messaging. Activities will include:
- Production of specifications
- Direction of coding team
- Setting of goals and deadlines
- Monitoring of the development process
- Testing and signing-off on code and systems
General office management adds to this role the opportunity to oversee larger teams and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of office operations. Activities will include:
- Production and monitoring of timesheets
- Ordering of office supplies
- Assisting visitors
- Appropriate scheduling of staff holiday around business needs
- Interviewing new staff
- Planning staff excursions/team building
- Staff training
Successful applicants will have both technical and managerial experience, having thrived in both areas for a number of years. A thorough understanding of computing and the Internet, as well as a diverse knowledge of programming languages including Perl and Java is essential. Secure programming (particularly for web applications) and achieving efficiency through design are fundamental concepts that should already be well practiced. Knowledge of Linux or Unix systems is required and Apple Mac experience would be useful.
First-aid and other relevant training and experience may be beneficial, and education to degree level or above in a complimentary subject (such as Business, or Computing) is preferred.

Innovative SMS messaging technology company CardBoardFish is seeking technically minded, trustworthy, reliable and courteous individuals for both full and part time positions in its Technical Support department.
Technical Support at CardBoardFish is an opportunity to work unscripted, providing exceptional levels of personalised assistance to clients and liaising with suppliers. Diagnostic tools and powerful controls allow the Technical Support Professional to resolve the majority of issues unaided, working in conjunction with Network Operations and our in-house software developers to satisfy more complex requirements.
Core activities:
- Front line support to clients ranging from individual consumers to large corporations
- Investigating and responding to customer reported issues, primarily via a web based ticketing system, but also by telephone and email
- Using a range of computer-based systems in order to troubleshoot issues, and utilising Internet search engines to undertake further research when necessary
- Liaising with different aspects of the business, such as technical, sales, and finance, in the pursuit of reaching optimal resolutions and providing complete customer satisfaction
- Other activities associated with this role will include answering incoming calls, contacting clients regarding aspects of their services, providing live online support, and authorising or rejecting digital payments, along with other administrative tasks.

Working pattern and total hours are subject to agreement, minimum 16 hours (part time), maximum 40 hours (full time). If you have specific preferences please ensure you state them at the time of application.

The position of Marketing Executive will combine both traditional and new media roles to encompass overall responsibility for the presentation of the CardBoardFish brand, and sub-brands, to the public. The successful applicant will be allocated a monthly marketing budget; specific objectives will need to be met, and there will also be opportunities to craft the company message.
Core activities will include:
- Communicating key brands to the media and the public, including CardBoardFish, FishText, TextTank, and CBFSMS.
- Online advertising, including Google Adwords.
- Working with traditional media; print advertising, press releases etc.
- Creating and executing public awareness initiatives.
- Creating and executing special offers and promotions.
- Developing ideas with our in-house graphics designer.
- Selecting and completing advantageous sponsorship opportunities.
- Writing a regular electronic newsletter for selected brands.
- Reacting to current events, such as school closures due to snow.
Experience in at least some of the above activities is required, along with relevant qualifications to A-Level standard (or equivalent) or higher. Education to degree level or above is preferred. Other requirements include:
- 100% fluency in both spoken and written English, excellent grammar and spelling.
- A good knowledge of computing and the Internet.
- Understanding of online advertising.

Its principal activities include providing SMS text messaging connectivity for high volume users and SMS aggregators, supplying high quality SMS solutions for personal and business use, and operating consumer services for free and low cost personal messaging.
Based in our new Whitstable (Canterbury) offices, and operating primarily over live Internet chat, email and telephone, you will be responsible for handling inbound business opportunities and building long term client relationships.
You must demonstrate strong business acumen, technical knowledge of the Internet, and after training must convey a technical knowledge of the SMS solutions you will be selling. Some of the clients you will be working with will be from a technical background.
Core activities:
- Taking inbound calls and handling or routing them as appropriate.
- Responding to inbound email and Internet chat enquiries.
- Specialising in UK-centric services and growing sales in this area.
- Managing Business-class accounts for both UK and international clients.
- Customer support.
