Virtual Numbers - CardBoardFish offers Virtual Numbers (dedicated incoming SMS numbers), UK long mobile numbers starting 447, allowing for the integration of incoming SMS text messaging into your systems. Virtual Numbers are often used to create two-way texting functionality in conjunction with one of our other services, for example Email2SMS, but can also be used purely for the receipt of SMS text messages.

A compatible service is required in order to add Virtual Numbers. These services are the Desktop Service, Email2SMS and HTTPSMS. For integration purposes and a carrier grade service HTTPSMS is recommended for Business users looking to receive incoming SMS. A Virtual Number also makes an excellent accompaniment to Email2SMS, allowing text messages to be received, converted to emails and then delivered to an email address of the customer's choosing. Even where a customer uses the built-in Email2SMS reply feature, a Virtual Number is essential for publishing as a method of inbound contact, on flyers and websites for example.

Virtual Numbers are non-premium and users will be charged at their standard rate. There is also no per-message charge to the CardBoardFish customer, simply an annual rental fee, allowing complete control of costs.
